This is Mitu Akter. She has two daughters and one son. After her husband died in 2015, she was forced to live in poverty. In 2017, two years after her husband’s death, she decided to start a tailoring business on a small scale but was unable to generate profit due to a lack of financial literacy. Then, in 2018, she became a client of BRAC and took out a loan of 40000 BDT and invested decided to invest in her business. A few months after the loan she was able to generate a profit. After tasting success in tailoring, she decided to expand her business by opening a ladies’ parlor by receiving money from Blossom Funds. Recently she was able to pay for her daughter’s wedding with her earnings and send her son to school. Her monthly income is around 35,000 BDT to 40,000 BDT. Currently, she can live happily and expresses gratitude towards BRAC for supporting her.
